About Radius 7
Radius 7 was established in 2015 with the intention of bringing local produce, fresh from local suppliers, allotments, the harbour and the farm, to our customers. It takes the form of a relaxed, accessible and welcoming bar and restaurant. What makes the restaurant particularly special though is the guiding principle by which the team find suppliers and local producers to work with.
The aim is to source everything from within a seven mile radius (hence the name!) which creates a community-led feel and well-deserved support for lots of small businesses in the area. Even the tables in the restaurant are locally made! The bar benefits from this ethos too of course, featuring British wines, beer from bays brewery and cider from hunts brewery to name a few.
Head chef Richard Ashworth is tasked with translating this ethos to the menu development and the cooking itself. With a reputation based on excellent food, freshly prepared with care and skill, the restaurant continues to impress its's mixture of customers with "Land" and 'Sea' dishes, plus vegetarian options, nibbles and desserts. What's available depends on the produce the kitchen has to work with, so there is a seasonal feel to the offerings that comes about naturally, rather than a contrived attempt to serve 'autumnal' meals, for example. All budgets are welcomed, with the service and atmosphere kept deliberately informal and unpretentious. It's important that everyone (even dogs in the bar area) from families to professionals can enjoy a friendly, comfortable bar and dining experience. Warmth from the reclaimed timber cladding and beautiful Edison lighting invites you in during the darker months, whereas in summer the restaurant takes full advantage of the stunning sea views. Customers are encouraged to sample a drink or two before settling down to thier meal in the open, modern space, or just soak up the relaxed ambience at the bar
